In Which the Ringmaster Produces 3/2
The plan to shoot video in Atlanta in april is set. I need to do some breakdowns on the spots, but we should be able to shoot everything we have with time to spare. If the others are agreeable, we'll stay friday and saturday night.
On the zombie short, we've gotten lucky. We have a buddy that builds prosthetic body parts and he's offered us some mindblowing stuff! I mean, this is going to be some super realistic gore!
I think it's pretty much cast with friends. I'll know more later.
There are several openings in the Atlanta spots that we could use some volunteers in costume.
In Which the Ringmaster is Created by Humans...
I have a plan.
No more sitting around. The bottom line: I hate my job and I need a creative release.
Here are the things I plan to do this year:
* DragonCon TV videos.
These videos are actually being produced for the fans and some great folks that work D*C Techops I hung out with a ChattaCon this year. They were so good to us that I want to do something for them. These new videos are NOT parodies, they are original professional-quality TV spots designed as a tribute to the fans that make the con great. I am aiming for 5 of these, to be shot at the Atlanta Comics Expo. These will be like NOTHING DCTV has ever done or attempted.
* Zombie Playground (tentative title)
Short, under 10 minute zombie film about a little zombie girl left behind in a sealed facility until an unlucky group of cleaners arrive. Zombie children shouldn't play with their food.
* TechBo Shorts
I want to shoot some TechBo shorts to post to the site as well as to YouTube, but this is tentative.
Now, we've just got to make them happen.
In Which the Ringmaster Rambles
I finally fixed the posting permissions to allow me to post to my blog again!
Here is what's been going on in the website progress...
I installed a new gallery that I hated...now I've restored the old gallery, but I can't take time to import more than a fraction of the old images.
Blogs fixed themselves...go fig.
Music service is on hold. No one used it anyhow.
Chat is gone. It was never used.
I think I'll be able to use the Coppermine gallery to play back our videos! I'll work on it over the break. I want a YouTube style interface!
The Coppermine Gallery is being reoriented to post images for my history site Jobe's Opera House!
Radio vs. Static needs an upgrade.
I'm getting disheartened. I'm not seeing much evidence that people are using my sites since the hack. Without feedback and people cheering me on, it's hard to get motivated to rebuild.
In Which the Ringmaster Revises
"My Hero," is our new video project. It's a short, about 10 minutes long and is going to be alot of fun.
The script is ready for production. Five of the seven speaking parts are cast and confirmed. I've got to get started on securing the two locations and nailing down the two remaining roles. One was written with a particular local business owner in mind. I need to talk to him since he also owns one of said locations.
What's it about? Loss. Love. Superheroes.
It's going to be a fan film, yea, but it's not going to be onoe of the mastebatory "I wish I was a superhero" fan films. My Hero is about telling an interesting story first and showing off cool superheroics second. (Don't doubt for a second though...the heroes will be in full effect with all their signature moves and powers!) We're bringing some Marvel heroes to life for better reasons than just to bring evildoers to justice.
I can't wait to get things rolling!
