In Which Our Ringmaster Travels Though Time and It's Related Dangers
My local history forum Jobe's Opera House seems to be growing a nice little community. Loaded with photos from JC's past, it's already become a tool for identifying lost buildings, dating photographs, and helping people build a more complete understanding of the city's past.
"Henry" from Johnson's Depot has been a big part of keeping the discussion rolling. He seems to have an unending supply of relevant photo images and anecdotes! His enthusiasm is contagious!
I'm proud of the Opera House, it makes me feel like I'm giving a little back to the home town.
What we really need to do is get the Johnson's Depot web address splattered all across Main Street JC. If we can get people to visit his site, they will click through to the forum and hopefully become entangled in our web. (Forgive the pun.)
JC history has always been one of my fascinations. It would be great if I could one day publish a book on it's history. (But more on that dream later!)
